Call for Actor/Actresses 'Alan' Student Feature Film

Fee: Voluntary
Contact Sam Toller (st14727@my.bristol.ac.uk)
I'm planning to shoot a feature film on a shoestring budget over the summer. 'Alan' follows the title character, a 17 year old who feels like he's reached the peak of his life - a stunning girlfriend, great grades, the potential to go to Oxbridge and published writing - but now it's all falling apart around him. A coming of age film in the vein of Woody Allen, with a young yet weary protagonist whose niavety and idiocy seem to outgrow his intelligence and sensitivity.
I plan to shoot in Bristol and London, mainly during June but also other times. The film focuses on the younger characters, but I will need a handful of older actors to play the adult roles, of which there are four or five. This is unpaid, as it is a passion project and anyone working on the film will be doing so out of a desire to put a great film together. For examples of my work, please visit vimeo.com/samtoller
If you have a playing age of over thirty (preferably over forty) and are interested in being cast in one of the roles (including a suave yet antagonistic proffessor, a comedic driving instructor, a realistic and pragmatic mother and an irritatingly proud dad) please send me a resume, headshot and any links you deem appropriate, and I will send over a script extract for you to read and record!
Please feel free to ask any questions! I am also keen to get BAME performers involved in some of these roles, although dont let this put you off - I am very open to new portrayals of the characters I have written - I just want to see what people can do!

3 Males Actors Required for Bristol Short Film - Inhouse Media

Pay: to be decided
Deadline: Sunday 10th January 2016
Contact: Sam - st14727@my.bristol.ac.uk
Inhouse Media is Bristol University's production company. We are making our first creative film, Blank Fire, following athletic teenager Adam and his struggle between his abusive foster father Jim, and his paternal figure, Coach, who offers Adam his only escape - running.
ADAM is an athletic 18 year old, living with his abusive foster father. He is quiet, but not submissive, and his anger and rage slowly builds throughout the film. He has a lot of respect for COACH, but very little for his foster father JIM.
Coach is Adam’s paternal figure, rather than his abusive dad. Coach is aware of his responsibilities and not to overstep them, but sees something special in Adam. For this reason he is even more concerned by the signs of abuse that Adam displays.
Jim is a hot headed policeman in his forties, who abuses his foster son on a regular basis. He is selfish and ignorant, and always believes that he is right. He has no positive feelings towards ADAM, which means he can escape at work and training; JIM only keeps ADAM around for the benefits he receives.

We are filming in Bristol on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of January. We are seeing if our budget stretches to payment for actors, but we can definitely cover food and expenses. We are also aiming to do the festival run, so exposure will be good on this project! To audition, please send us an email giving us a little info about yourself, and which characters you're interested in, and we'll send over the appropriate audition pieces so you can record a video audition and send it in!

Actors wanted for 6 part web serial

Feather-Light And Paper-Thin is a 6 x 20min web-based serial tracking a young Healthcare Assistant who is attached to a cantankerous, curmudgeonly blind man. This man is an enigma - a puppetmaster, of sorts - and she soon realises that her working for him is no accident. She is there because of the misdealing of her best friend's brother, and it is not long before herself, her friend and the brother are ensnared in a web of multi-national intrigue, from which the only possible rescue can come from the most unlikely source.

This is a nano-budget film, and will be unpaid. The first episode will be distributed freely. Subsequent episodes will be released on a pay-per-view model, probably at 99c, and any profit resulting, if there is any, will be shared between all cast and crew on a transparent and fair basis dependant on hours worked.

The shoots will be on successive weekends, and we will shoot the episodes in pairs. It is imperative that cast and crew are able to commit to the whole project - there may be a gap of some months between shooting episodes 1 &2, and shooting 5 & 6.

In the first instance, do get in touch; I'll send you the scripts of the first couple of episodes, and you can see whether it speaks to you or not.

In particular, I'm looking to fill the following roles:

Angela - late fifties - sister of Fenton Roth (the blind puppermaster) - early on, seems quite ditzy and naive

DI Claire Moretti - late 30s/early 40s - disarmingly pleasant and affable, inner strength and perceptiveness

DS Col Adams - early 30s - probably quite tall/big

Kirsten Berg - arch antagonist - late 30s - actually Norwegian, though no accent - elegant, strong, ruthless

However - if you're interested in the project but don't necessarily fit neatly into one of those roles, do get in touch. It would be great to hear from you, and nothing is set in stone yet.
