We are excited to announce that The Gallery project in Chinese Visual Festival 2014 is now open for the submission.

Application Deadline: 5th April 2014

The Gallery Project is part of the Chinese Visual Festival (CVF) 2014, which runs 7 – 17 May at King’s College London, with sessions also being held at the British Film Institute (BFI) and Riverside Studios in collaboration with DocHouse.

As an experimental project, The Gallery examines the making of an exhibition and the role of social media in PR & marketing, interpretation and participation. The Gallery is an installation set up as a physical gallery and has one exhibition space with a fixed set of equipment (TV, screen, projector, printer, lighting, etc). Artists will be invited to submit proposals for full or half-day exhibitions during The Gallery installation, which will be open to the public in the Anatomy Museum, King’s College London in central London. A total of 16 proposals will be shown within the season.

We are looking for project proposals with any art forms such as painting, installations, videos, sounds, performance and also curating projects. 

The deadline for applications is 5 April 2014. Shortlisted projects will be announced online on 11 April 2014.

The Gallery is working in partnership with China Culture Connect (www.chinacultureconnect.org) and the Cultural Institute at King’s College London (www.kcl.ac.uk/cultural) to deliver this season.

Open Call for Film Makers!

JW3 (Jewish Arts, Community Centre London) is home to London's newest independent cinema and here is your chance if you are a filmmaker or artist creating short films, video art or any other type of artists’ moving image, to get involved and submit your work to be shown on the big screen in our plush boutique 60 seater cinema at our newest film club evening - our Artists' Film Salon. Each evening will feature an informal talk from an artist – filmmaker with a different perspective to share on the world of artists’ moving image.

We're sending the call out for the Artists' Film Salon evening taking place on Monday 7th April at 8pm. 

Each Artists’ Film Salon is themed, and the theme this time is 'The Unknown'... be creative, artistic and interpret it however you like. We're open to all sorts of suggestions so show us what you can do! 

Artists’ Film Salon at JW3 Cinema is curated by JW3’s film programmer – Kate Ross, WhittyGordon Projects and with assistance from JW3’s cinema projectionist Tomasz Marek.

WhittyGordon Projects are artists and filmmakers Fiona Whitty and Jenny Gordon (both MA FA, Chelsea College of Art & Design) currently working on films and projects in London, the U.K, Ireland and Kingston Jamaica.

All are welcome to come and watch the artists’ moving image work and join in with our discussion.

Frieze Artist Award 2014: call for entries

Frieze is pleased to announce the introduction of the Frieze Artist Award, a major new opportunity to create and present site-specific artwork at Frieze London. The award is now open for entries, to both UK and international artists between 25 and 40 years of age.

Artists are invited to propose a new work to be realized at Frieze London 2014 and produced under the auspices of Frieze Projects. The award will include: a production budget of up to 10,000 GBP, a research and development budget of up to 5,000 GBP, plus an artist’s fee, per diems and travel expenses.

The award is for site-specific work, with an inclination towards performance and installation. Proposals should respond to the experience and duration of the London fair in a thought-provoking way. Applicants will be judged on the innovative nature of their proposal and its suitability for realization at Frieze London.

Entrance to the award is by open submission and the winner will be selected by an international panel of artists and curators. The closing date for applications is 10 March 2014. The winner of the award will be announced in May 2014.

The Frieze Artist Award sits within a distinguished history of artist awards presented at Frieze Art Fair, which include the Emdash Award (2011–2013) and the Cartier Award (2006–2010). This first edition of the Frieze Artist Award also coincides with the launch of Live, a new section for galleries at the London fair that is dedicated to performative or interactive works.

We are JW3, a Jewish Arts and Community Centre – we’ve got an action-packed arts programme of film, theatre, live music, festival and literary events based in a new state-of-the-arts-venue (not that we are showing off).

We are seeking submissions from artists for our upcoming live art event entitled ‘The Secret Confessions of…’ Everyone has a secret to share, and a confession to make, and we are curating an evening of revealing tales, hidden surprises and uncovered stories, especially commissioned for this night.

We are bringing together a rich mix of talent, comprising of more than 15 different artists and performance-makers.

This is an open call to artists of any discipline to engage with the subject of secrets and confessions; we are committed to supporting work that is dynamic, a bit gutsy and challenging for both artists and audiences. You can choose to give your proposal a Jewish theme or flavour, but you certainly don’t have to – we’re open to all kinds of ideas and themes.

It might be that you want to project a film, facilitate an interactive one-to-one performance, produce a pop-up puppets show, a sound installation, a poetry reading, or tickle people with a giant feather (we’re not judging).

JW3 will provide:

• Seed funding for artists
• A resource budget
• Technical support
• A curated platform for the performance of the work
• Marketing for the event

As part of a 6 week programme of rolling exhibitions at Façade, Blair Zaye in conjunction with Moderna Art presents ‘Open Wall’ an open submission exhibition of contemporary emerging artists across all disciplines right in the heart of the city. ‘Open Wall’ is a great opportunity for artists to exhibit inside an amazing rough and ready 1600sqft disused bank, centrally located on London Wall (the street), just 5 minutes walk from Bank and Liverpool Street Stations and is surrounded by several investment banks and companies in the concrete jungle that is the financial epicentre of London.

Open Call for Artists - Young Masters Art Prize 2014

We are delighted to announce that the third edition of the Young Masters Art Prize 2014 is open for applications with exhibitions of the shortlisted artists taking place at the Lloyds Club and Sphinx Fine Art in London.  The exhibitions will be curated by emerging curators R/E Collective (Ravian van den Hil and Emily Purser, MA Chelsea College of Arts, 2013).

Artists, working in any medium and from anywhere in the world, are invited to submit applications from the 15th January 2014 until 30th April 2014.  The shortlisted artists will participate in two exhibitions, at Sphinx Fine Art and at the Lloyds Club, London between September and December 2014.  The exhibitions will also feature previous winner Lottie Davies as a guest artist.  A judging panel will award three Prizes; an overall Prize of £1,500 and two highly commended Prizes of£500 each, kindly donated by the Artists’ Collecting Society.  The winning artists will also be invited to exhibit in a showcase of their work in an international location as part of the Young Masters International Tour in 2015.

The third edition of the Young Masters Art Prize also sees the launch of the inaugural Young Masters Maylis Grand Ceramics Prize.  The Prize of £1,500 has been donated by James and Maylis Grand and will be awarded to an artist who shows exceptional command of the medium of ceramics alongside an awareness of the art of the past and the heritage of ceramic craft.

Artists/Creatives needed for a shoot in London

Red Vatican is a London based ethical designer fashion label.

We're currently looking for artists/creatives to shoot for our campaign e.g. Actors, Dancers, Stylists, Painters, Sculptors, Filmmakers, Model/Presenters etc etc etc! 

The shoot will take place at our studio in Hackney on the 11th or the 18th of January; you will need to be available for the entire day.

We have an extensive list of media Partners including: The Metro, Ben Trovato, Zink Magazine (NY), C-Heads Magazine, A Magazine Curated By, 160 Grams Magazine, Jimon Magazine and many more. 

We're anticipating 80K plus visitors to our site in 2014. Your links will be included hence your work, as an Artist/Creative, will be seen by relevant industry figures and potential customers.

We're looking for:

A Male - 5' 10'/177 meters - minimum 
A Female - 5' 8'/173 meters - minimum
