As a Volunteer Coordinator, you are directly responsible to the Education and Development Manager.
The role of the Volunteer Coordinator will be to help establish the Volunteer Programme, provide training, and recruit a sufficient pool of local volunteers to cover the museum shop, as well as address other volunteering needs within the organisation.
This role will take place on a short-term 19 week contract, which will include 1 ½ days a week – 7 hours on Saturday and 4 hours during the week on Monday or Tuesday.
The role would also compliment the Students Skill Development Programme, which aims to recruit around six students who would commit to a six months period leading up to and including the Museum’s annual Lunar New Year event.
The volunteer coordinator will also manage the Volunteer Reward Scheme, which includes a Christmas celebration at the Museum, as well as a post Lunar New Year celebration.
Previous experience in working on a volunteering programme is highly desirable. Additional experience in museums and other similar areas of work will also be highly valued.
