The South West Museum Development (SWMD) team is seeking a creative and driven individual with significant experience working in an arts or cultural environment to join our small, proactive team.
- You will have responsibility for leading the programme’s audiences theme. You will work with museums across the region and relevant sector bodies (e.g. Audience Agency) to develop and deliver a range of audience development projects/initiatives, promoting the adoption of consistent audience data collection, providing training and consultancy and advice services.
- You will lead our research, evaluation and data collection programmes with museums, working in collaboration with partner Museum Development providers across England using the data to support advocacy for the social and economic value of museums. You will advise on effective data collection methods and approaches to audience evaluation in difference museum contacts and for difference museum stakeholders, such as funders.
- You will be confident working with both qualitative and quantitative data and will spend time communicating with museum staff and volunteers across the region on how to collect and use data in their organisations.
This full time role will be based at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery but will involve regular regional and occasional national travel. This post is project funded by Arts Council England and employed by Bristol City Council within the Bristol Culture department.
