Open Call to Artists for October Exhibition




Artists of all practices are invited to submit original artwork to a week long exhibition at Centrespace Art Gallery from the 2nd until the 8th of October 2015. The exhibition is titled ‘Overflow’and the theme is Environmental Feminism, focusing on the ways in which patriarchal society “justifies and maintains relationships of domination and subordination”, drawing parallels between sexism, racism, heterosexism and the destruction of the planet. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme however they wishAll art mediums will be considered in this call for submissions, from: film, written work, performance, sound, installation, sculpture and 2D work.   

Exhibition space: 

120sq meters.  
Centrespace Gallery, 6 Leonard Lane, Bristol, BS1 1EA 

Criteria: 

An up to date CV. 
A brief biographical description, no more than 150 words. 
Up to 6 images of proposed artwork, individual file size limit 1mb. 
Film, performance and sound should be provided via a web-link, or alternatively via drop-box.

Deadline:  

All applications must be submitted by midnight on the 25th of July. Artists will be informed of their selection on the 1st of August. Since this is an independently funded project, a contribution of £7.00 will be asked from the selected artists on the day of installation.
