Hogarth Productions is looking for exhibits of new or existing work for a sound art exhibition / event on 31st May 2014. Hogarth Productions events are often experiential and always looking at how new audiences can access work.
Submissions can be for sound based work from any discipline. We encourage applications from people or groups from theatre, contemporary music, poetry backgrounds etc as well as contemporary art.
‘Wycombe Listening’ has two aims: to provide an engaging experiential event to inaugurate an arts programme at a new arts centre in High Wycombe and to introduce the subject of sound art to new audiences. The event will consist of a series of exhibits, punctuated by a set of performances.
The event takes place in what was previously the Church for artisan furniture makers (now a new arts centre) the historic Church of St Johns in High Wycombe. These references will be present in the newly commissioned instruments played by sculptor Michael Fairfax, made from recycled Wycombe furniture. Other confirmed artists include Mike Blow and Alison Ballard, Signal-to-Noise and Patrick White. The exhibition will be approached from a site responsive perspective, using the natural architecture, shapes and alcoves to exhibit the work.
Applications, including a proposal and any visuals, CV, images of past work, links to websites etc should be made to info@hogarthproductions.co.uk and should be a maximum of 3MB
Fees vary up to £1000
Application deadline is April 30th. Sucessfull applicants will be notified by 5th May
