Framing Workshop Technician x2 (paid internship)

Bristol based Little Framing Co. is a small company dedicated to making beautiful handmade frames to any requested size.  Our workshop is based in the heart of Bristol at The Island on Nelson Street.
The Little Framing Company is currently recruiting for two 6 month internships, offering the successful applicants the opportunity to gain experience in most tasks involved with the picture framing business. From advising customers and taking orders, to cutting glass and using precision machinery.  All training will be provided.
A usual day will mainly involve:
  • Making frames (which involves using a variety of machinery, cutting glass, handling artwork etc)
  • Taking orders and advising customers on design/style/conservation techniques using your eye for composition, arrangement and form.
  • Taking payments/invoicing.
  • Using Social Media to promote the business.
Personal Qualities Required:
  • Strong artistic background and knowledge.
  • Strong organisational and customer service skills.
  • Confindent with basic DIY tasks
  • Handle on using social media.
  • Some heavy lifting may be required.

These paid internships have been created as part of The Creative Employment Programme and supported by Creative Skills Hub and The West of England Local Partnership.
There are certain criteria you must meet  in order to be eligible to apply for a Creative Employment Programme funded internship. At the time of applying you must be aged 16 - 24 years old and you must be registered as unemployed with Jobcentre Plus.  These eligibility criteria have been approved by the Department of Work and Pensions
