State ofEmergency Productions, a national arts production company, has received a second stage grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to create the first fully accessible archive related to Black Dance in theUK. Over the course of 2½ years, the project will collect up to 29 archives from celebrated individuals and organisations operating from 1960s through to 2000s and aim to preserve, catalogue and make these accessible as well as promote the collections through a range of activities.
An experienced and professional filmmaker is required to create a series of films, which capture and showcase the Black Dance Archives project over a 20-month period. The filmmaker will be required to document and edit up to 12 separate project events including interviews, performances, workshops and lectures.
