Kit Room Assistant/Camera Crew Coordinator

A full time opportunity has arisen for a Kit Room Assistant / Camera Crew Coordinator to start as soon as possible at 2000 Television.

The person will be responsible for preparing and checking broadcast camera kits and must be able to react promptly to either urgent or pre planned camera crew assignments. The person must hold excellent communication and organizational skills. You will be responsible for liaising with both clients & camera crews to fulfil the filming requirements of any pre planned or breaking assignment that may arise. The suitable candidate must have an interest in camera equipment and the broadcast industry. Camera equipment / industry experience preferred although not essential. Full training will be provided for an initial trial period. Must have driving license.

Performing Arts Teachers Needed - Film and Television


PERFORMING ARTS TEACHERS –PQA BRISTOL
PQA, the new generation of weekend drama schools set up by actress Pauline Quirke, are currently recruiting teaching staff for their Academy in BRISTOL, based at Cotham School.
Brilliant, inspirational and energetic, you will instil your passion for the performing arts into the hearts and minds of the young people who attend our academies. Applicants should have experience both in professional performing arts as well as working with children and young people aged 6-18.
PQA offers an attractive rate of pay (dependent on experience) and unrivalled support. We are recruiting teachers in the following disciplines, both for regular and cover positions:

Film & Television

this is a technical role, must have sound extensive and working knowledge of
Pre Production work
script work
using the equipment including HD camera, tripod, boom mic, clapper board
working on location
editing the footage

The successful applicant will be taking over the Cinema Screening project, this will be on Nov 16th at The Showcase Cinema, Cabot Circus. We will be showing an hour presentation of film work compiled in the Film and TV class to friends and family.
Position must be filled ASAP. Interviewing now and job will be offered end of July, then August will be used to sort all the admin in time to start Aug 30th.

Hours are 9.30am to 1.30pm at Cotham School, Cotham Lawn Road. 
44 weeks of the year (2 Sats off for a Easter and 2 off for Christmas and 4 Sats off in a August. We continue through half term)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technician responsible for Data Management within the School of Film and Television. Recent capital investment has allowed the School to move forward to embrace workflows and image capture/output at up to 4K resolution. We are looking for a new team member to become a cornerstone in assisting with and implementing these new workflows. Central to the role will be the administration and configuration of an Avid ISIS shared media server. The ideal candidate will have in depth knowledge and experience in network administration and configuration in Linux, Windows and Mac OSX environments. You will also have experience of storage technologies and network filesystems alongside a good general networking knowledge. Ability and experience in using relevant specialist software such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro 7/X, would be an advantage, as would experience of archive/back up of tapeless media, digitising rushes and transcoding and conforming. You will provide a professional level of technical instruction, curriculum support, demonstration and supervision for the technical facilities, equipment and/or processes for all of the subjects of the School. This includes the set-up, maintenance and supply of resources and equipment, and the provision of technical assistance, advice and instruction to all stakeholders, including students, academic staff, and external customers. Junior Editor for the One Show (Based in Bristol)


Junior Editor for the One Show
Salary – circa £600-£650pw (Depending on experience)
4-6 month contract (With two week trial period in March)
We are looking for a Jnr Editor to join our One Show team delivering creative and distinctive films that cover a wide range of subjects including Natural History, Science, History, Music & Adventure.
The successful applicant will cut approximately 8x 4-5min films each month, working with several different Directors, the Series Producer & Exec Producer
The purpose of this role is to assist the Director in completing their ‘vision’ in the edit to the highest standards while meeting the specific requirements of the channel, ensuring that the project achieves the highest creative, journalistic, editorial and technical standards and delivers on time and within budget.
As editor you will work closely with the Director, PTA, PM and other members of the production team to offline films whilst remaining aware and managing potential costs involved in archive, graphics and deliverables.
Essential
• Relevant editing experience on FCP & Adobe Premier
• Excellent communication skills
• Competent , relevant technical skills
• Knowledge of production workflow
• Flexibility and Resilience
• Ability to stay calm and work under pressure to tight deadlines
• Ability to learn and develop fast

Desirable skills
• Graphics
• Working knowledge of After Effects

Core Hours:  09.30am to 6.00pm, with one hour for lunch.  Some evening & weekend work may be required.
