Tinkering Officer - At Bristol


Pay: £21,000 – 24,000
Fixed term contract of 12 months.
37.5 per week. Working 5 days out of 7, normally Monday to Friday but will include some weekend working.
Deadline: Sunday 31st January 2016

In July 2016, At-Bristol will open its new Tinkering Space – a maker space where visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to try their hand at making exciting creations, developing new skills and exploring new technologies.
We need a talented individual with strong technical skills to develop innovative activities for both public and schools audiences, working closely with our Education and Live Science teams.  The role is a varied and busy one liaising with others within and beyond At-Bristol and responding flexibly to the demands of a dynamic and fast-paced working environment.

Exhibit Developer - At Bristol

£27,000 - £30,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week. Any 5 days in 7 on a duty rota covering a minimum of 37.5 hours per week

Do you have model making experience or an engineering background? Are you a skilled technical problem solver used to working in a variety of materials?

At-Bristol is now seeking an Interactive Exhibit Developer to work within the Exhibitions team working to develop and maintain our exhibition floor. As part of our team you will be responsible for the development, redevelopment and construction of interactive exhibits.

You will work closely with the team, particularly the Design Engineer, to develop and fabricate interactive exhibits. In addition you will assist in the delivery of a comprehensive programme of preventative and reactive maintenance for all our exhibitions.

You will need relevant experience of model-making, operating manual machine tools, hand tools and bench fitting work as well as HNC/D qualification in a relevant subject. Please see the job description for further details.
