This public facing role will encompass the range of activities on offer primarily at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery and M shed.
Main Tasks:
· To welcome visitors and guests to the museums providing information and any leaflets or accompanying material.
· To interact with the public during events and at exhibitions introducing them displays and activities
· To stimulate curiosity, thinking and interaction through questions, activities and two-way conversation
· To support children’s activities and workshops with support from other staff members
· To connect the handling objects to display material within the Curiosity gallery or other galleries
· To signpost people to other parts of the Museum and to other Museum sites.
· To contribute to activities by helping set up materials and encourage to be inspired by the things around them.
· To be part of promoting and delivering seasonal events and topical programmes throughout the year.
The Visitor Experience Volunteers will be engaging in a range of activities to improve and enhance the visitor experience. One day you may be supervising face painting, another day presenting handling objects from the collection, supervising the celebrations of the Chinese New Year or entry to a fabulous exhibition. The locations will be at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery or at M Shed. Full training will be provided.
