Call Out for Spoken Word Artists aged 16-24

Bare Bones is an event that brings spoken word artists and performance poets to the stage for a dynamic and thought-provoking evening at Mac Birmingham.
As part of “What’s The Agenda?” Cannon Hill Collective’s eagerly anticipated festival of art for social change, the mac gang is inviting all you performance artists to respond to one or all of the following themes:
Eight spoken word artists/performance poets (four based in the West Midlands and four based anywhere else in the UK) will get a five-minute slot each at the Bare Bones event. Each winner will receive a performance fee of £50 - plus travel expenses (if they are based outside of the West Midlands).
Selected artists will draw on personal experience or use the media as a stimulus, to respond to those subjects listed above. Their contributions to the eclectic evening will be brand new works, showcased so as to get people thinking about these subjects.
The event will be hosted in the Foyle Studio at mac birmingham on Sunday 30 March 2014 at 7.30pm.
Open to ages 16-24.
