Common Players are creating an outdoor production of Jez Butterworths’ Jerusalem, in collaboration with Exeter Northcott, and seek an actor for the challenging and rewarding lead role of Rooster Byron.
Rooster is aged around 50, and the performer needs to be physically agile.
This will be a paid role (based on Equity fees) at the centre of a cast and crew of committed amateur and aspiring professionals, led by a fully professional team. The project, seeks to build skills in participants and deliver an engaging and high quality production to rural and community audiences.
Rehearsals will take place in or near Exeter and begin with a residency 28-30 March and then continue from 14th April on a half time basis involving many evenings and weekends.
Performances will begin around 25th May for a 5 day run in Exeter and then be on Fridays and Saturdays around rural Devon, through June.
