Press and Media Manager at Hauser and Wirth

Based in our Somerset gallery, we are looking for a
Press & Media Manager
You will work alongside the Director and manage all Press and Communications for Somerset in liaison with London.
The role will include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:
• Managing and working closely with external PR companies to establish press campaigns for the launch of Hauser & Wirth Somerset, internal exhibitions, the education programme, events, residency programme and general gallery press
• Organising and preparing all material for press including drafting press releases, and briefings.
• Establishing and managing the gallery’s e-communications
 and social media in conjunction with London.
• Leading the on-going development of the gallery’s website
• Designing material to promote exhibitions, events as well as the education and residency programmes.
• Working with designers and printers to deliver gallery publications
• Handling press enquiries and image requests
• Representing the gallery and attending events as required
We are looking for a driven, flexible, creative and hands-on person who enjoys working for an international organisation, situated in a rural location and has a minimum of 3 years experience in an equivalent role. The successful candidate would work as part of a small team in Somerset where a new gallery will open in summer 2014.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
• Self-motivated with a meticulous attention to detail

• Able to prioritise a varied workload and use initiative to meet deadlines

• Experience in an arts environment

• Excellent writing and communication skills, as well as analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills.

• Fluent in Adobe CS5 (particularly Photoshop and InDesign), Microsoft Office and Mac OSX and basic knowledge of HTML
• Full clean driving license is an advantage.
