Volunteer Roles going at the Bristol Museums


Graphics Assistant
 The Bristol Museums need someone who is good at formatting in Microsoft Word (on pc), setting and sizing backgrounds and type-setting.
There are  about 60 templates that need copying from pdfs, for some new retail labels and tickets.

•             Strong Microsoft Word and technical skills (pc) for setting and sizing backgrounds. 
•             A good understanding of type-setting and balance.
•             Detail-oriented focus, they need to be thorough and precise.

Arts for Wellbeing Assistant

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work in the fields of arts and health or community arts. Shine at M Shed is a fortnightly art session that takes place at M Shed and aims to use art to improve the wellbeing of people with low-level mental health issues such as anxiety or depression. A volunteer is needed to:

•             Help greet participants.
•             Monitor and support participants when visiting the exhibitions.
•             Assist with art workshops.
•             Provide general support to the course facilitator.
•             Help clear up at the end of the session.

The course takes place every other Monday (term time) between 10:00-13:00. It’s essential that anyone applying for this position has excellent people skills and is comfortable working with people who have low-level mental health issues.

Store Tours Volunteer

We are looking to recruit some new volunteers on to our Store Tours team at M Shed.

This role would suit volunteers with an interest in social history or industrial and maritime history, this is not essential but we are looking for volunteers that also have great people and communication skills. The training for the role is self-lead and you will be introduced to members of the team who you will be able to learn tips and tricks from.
