INTRODUCTION TO Cancer Intelligence (CI):
CI is a small online publisher that was founded to improve cancer care for patients by accelerating research findings to application at the bedside. The focus is to improve interaction between all parties involved in the cancer research process.
Our main project 'ecancer' is an award winning non-profit cancer information portal that publishes research, video and news alongside an open access journal: ecancermedicalscience.
ecancer is the dissemination and education partner in a number of European Commission funded projects.
There are 11 employees in our office on Cheltenham road and we are expanding fast.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Video and Web Production Coordinator to join our team in Bristol. The purpose of the role will be to provide support for a number of web tv projects. We require someone who can engage proactively with the team and is prepared to travel to Europe and the US, possibly further afield.
Main responsibilities will include:
Editing videos, oversee editing of videos
Oversee project websites (write copy, check content, commission design)
Publish content (upload news, video, conference listings)
Write video descriptions
Help maintain social media profiles such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube
Attend conferences worldwide
Book and manage camera crews worldwide
Organising and archiving footage
Updating databases
Prioritise, plan and manage own workload and deliver to deadlines
Staying up to date on social media trends, video production techniques and technology
Liaising with webcast production clients
Skills required:
Basic video editing in Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere
Mac and PC literate
Good English skills; attention to detail on grammar and spelling
Good organisational skills
Interest in multimedia
Excellent attention to detail in general
Good IT skills
Experience of completing objectives to timescales
Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
Desirable skills include:
Interest or some background in science/cancer/health/biology
Enjoy international travel, be prepared for travel at short notice and on weekends
TV production experience; managing crew
Experience with Wordpress or other website building sites or programs
Experience with Adobe Illustrator
Some basic HTML
Open to learn new skills as the role may expand
Professional video camera operation as well as lighting, and sound
