New Volunteer Opportunity at Arnolfini

At Arnolfini we are expanding our volunteer programme. Currently volunteers play an important role in the organisation including support for our learning and participation programme events. We have also welcomed many interns, volunteers and work placement students to Arnolfini over the years, some of whom have become and are currently paid members of staff. 

We are now offering the opportunity to take part in Arnolfini’s visual art programme as an Exhibition Assistant. You will be part of the Arnolfini team, supported by dedicated volunteer co-ordinators, welcoming a diverse range of visitors to a wide range of exhibitions, starting with The Promise which opens on 18 July. Your role will be to offer guidance and information about our contemporary arts programme, so that visitors can make the most of, and enjoy their visit to our gallery spaces and building.   

The key tasks will be to;

• Welcome visitors to Arnolfini
• Introduce and interpret the exhibitions with visitors, supporting engagement with the artworks
• Invigilating in the gallery spaces, ensuring the protection and security of artworks
• Gather feedback and information from our visitors, helping Arnolfini to understand and respond to our audiences
• Offer visitors a welcoming environment in which to explore Arnolfini resources and archival material in the Reading Room
