A thriving Swindon Secondary School is actively seeking a talented and ambitious graduate with teaching aspirations, and a degree in a creative subject such as Drama or Music, to join them as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a whole academic year from September. The successful applicant will be offered a full time role in a supportive environment  where they will be given comprehensive guidance in a progressive and varied role. 
You will be given the opportunity to carry out a varied role with the support of an energetic and committed Head of Department that has recently joined the school. It is expected that you will be heavily involved in school productions, and will have the patience and communication skills required to help all children become involved in these.
There will also be the opportunity to aid children with their musical development, this will involve in part, the utilisation of a well resourced department to record and manipulate performances. No technical music knowledge is required, though it would be advantageous. In addition to this you will be able to work cross departmentally as a Graduate Teaching Assistant to give you the breadth and depth of experience that will allow you to gain the experience that you need, in order to develop and progress.
The school has a large number of pupils with special educational needs who benefit greatly from the accessibility that the performing arts department provides them. As the Graduate Teaching Assistant you will often be working with children who have special needs, to help them to explore and benefit from these excellent facilities in a creative and progressive manor.
