You will be working alongside the production designer as production assistant / production runner.
BACKGROUND INFO:
2.8hours later is an interactive game, where players are immersed into a 'real life horror movie', they are given clues and a map and will need to find their way across the city to the end location– chased by actors dressed as zombies. Hot Soup House transforms abandoned buildings across the city into designated 'safe zones' where they get clues to the next location.
WHAT'S INVOLVED:
Over the year we visit a number of cities across the UK including London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Sheffield and Newcastle, the successful applicant will work closely with the production designer setting up between 7 to 11 game locations across the city, carrying out health and safety checks according to specific risk assessments and be on hand to make sure the event runs smoothly.
The event runs for a 2 week period in one particular city each month, then there will be a 2 week gap before the game moves to another city. The game runs throughout the summer, starting from now until November 2014.
WHAT WE'RE AFTER:
We are a Bristol company so preference will be given to those who live locally or those who are willing to travel to/from Bristol before and after each event.
Essential skills:
Applicants must be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting
Willing to work weekends and on occasion long hours
Experience working in events/ festivals/ theatre industry
Practically minded and good at problem solving
Advance skills (desirable):
Creative thinker
Knowledge/ experience of electrics
Own your own tools, drill driver, wire cutters, spanners at a minimum
WHAT YOU'LL GET:
Pay is £100/day for production assistant and £80/day for runner. The applicant will take on both of these roles. Production assistant wage will be paid during the set up/take down of the game which takes 3 to 4 days each event and during game days the applicant will switch to the role of runner which will last 2 to 3 days per week.
Transport to and from the cities and accommodation costs will all be covered by Hot Soup House.
You will be responsible for making your own tax and national insurance contributions.
