We now have a fantastic opportunity for an intern to support the Public Engagement team in marketing and the running the events programme at Arnos Vale. We are looking for a young person between the ages of 18 and 24 who is interested in pursuing a career in heritage, public engagement or education. The intern role is for 6 months at 30 hours per week.
What will the role involve
- Writing PR material, visitor information, site information and marketing
- Improving the visitor experience through surveying, questionnaires and observations, then analysing the data.
- Office based work
- Research for exhibitions, schools materials and projects (may require some off-site working)
- Working directly with the public. Supporting the running of schools workshops, family activities and public events including theatre productions, music events and exhibitions. Care and recording of the museum collections (full training will be given).
- Events management – bookings, tickets, answering email queries, taking bookings and managing ticket sales
Skills and qualifications:
Essential
Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
Able to work some weekends and evenings
Physically active
Clear handwriting
Ability to use the internet for research
Excellent verbal communication skills
Maths and English GCSE (grade A-C)
Desired
Ability to use Microsoft Outlook
Understanding of social media
Experience of working with the public, especially families
This paid internship has been created as part of the Creative Employment Programme. The Creative Employment Programme is an Arts Council England Fund to support the creation of traineeships, formal apprenticeship and paid internship opportunities in England for unemployed young people wishing to pursue a career in the arts and cultural sector. There are certain criteria you must meet in order to be eligible to apply for a Creative Employment Programme funded internship. At the time of applying you must be aged 18-24 years old and you must be registered as unemployed with Jobcentre Plus.
