We are looking to re-cast 2 actors for occasional touring dates of The Last Post from April 2014 onwards.

The Last Post, devised by Kilter in 2012/13, is a gentle, humorous love-story with live music and singing. The show is a 75 minute 3-hander that takes place inside a converted luton lorry at close quarters with 18 audience members.

BATH/BRISTOL based actors only please.

AUDITION: 27th January in Bath (possible re-calls on 29th)

Male actor to play RED – a redundant quick-witted postman. Playing Age: 25-35.

Female actor to play VERITY & GREAT AUNT SOFYA. Playing Age: 25-35. Verity is a reclusive letter-writing addict, who has lived in the strange world of a pen-palling agency from a young age. Her Great Aunt Sofya is an eastern European eccentric who talks with the audience. This role requires a good character actor with the ability to switch quickly to a very naturalistic style. Able to play older than her years.

Both actors must be good, confident singers.

A clean driving license is an advantage. Please state whether you are comfortable driving a 3.5 tonne truck (Category B – normal license is fine).

This is quite an unusual job so applicants should be flexible, experienced, and with a can-do attitude to adapt to circumstances and challenging sites. You must be friendly and happy to do driving and complex get ins/get outs, some workshops, chatting with audiences and bookers, camping at Festivals etc.

Rehearsal dates (2 weeks only!): February 10th - 22nd

Bookings will be discussed with the cast on a case-by-case basis between April-October. However, you should be available with reasonable warning for gigs here and there throughout the summer, particularly at weekends. You must be available for ...

23rd-25th May: Alderney Performing Arts Festival (and maybe 19th-28th May)

Fee for rehearsals: £430 per week.

Fee for performances- between £80-£100 per performance day, plus some travel and accommodation.
