Hybrid News Limited is an online news media company based in Bristol. We own web properties such as Asian Correspondent.com and StudyInternational.co.uk. We produce our own unique content, plan and run search and social media campaigns. Through our large global online audience, we help Universities to find international students. We are looking to fill the following roles:
*Junior (Assistant) Web Editor / Author for International News sites
*Junior (Assistant) Web Editor / Author for Higher Education sites
The web editor / author is responsible for the content and images used on our websites. They will plan, research, write copy and edit the content of our websites. They will be managing and commissioning freelancers around the world. The successful candidate could have experience and knowledge in either news / current affairs or higher education / international student recruitment. Experience working on student newspapers is also valuable.
Daily tasks will include:
* Producing new content and writing it in an interesting and appealing manner
Sourcing images
Liaising with internal staff
Manage social media to help promote content
Maintaining the site and ensuring the information is accurate.
Dealing with enquiries, comments and readers

A web author/editor should:
Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Be able to undertake research using a variety of sources
Clear understanding of social media and how to build audience
Online headline writing skills
Be creative, able to alter their style of writing to reflect their audience
Be able to multitask and prioritize work load
Be computer literate and possess good keyboard skills

Applicant will possess (or studying) a relevant degree in communications, journalism or multi-media.
Salary: £6.31 per hour
Hours: 20 hours per week (days flexible)
